Anna Karrer Manley leads institutional communications, external engagement, and narrative change initiatives at Metta Fund, serving as a strategic advisor to the CEO while collaborating with program staff to amplify the foundation’s impact and reach.

With over 15 years in the social impact sector, Anna joined Metta Fund in 2019 after five years as an independent consultant helping foundations and nonprofits enhance their visibility, fundraising, brand development, and donor engagement strategies. During this period, she was a long-time consultant at the East Bay Community Foundation. She began her work in philanthropy at the San Francisco Foundation, where she gained broad programmatic experience during her five-year tenure.

Having grown up in three different countries, Anna brings an immigrant’s perspective and deeply values cultural relativity and difference. A passionate advocate for the arts as a vehicle for social change and community building, she formerly served on the board of Destiny Arts Center.

Anna earned her Bachelor of Arts in Global & International Studies as well as German Literature from UC Santa Barbara, and holds a Master in Public Administration from San Francisco State University.
